So even though it’s a couple of months later than I wanted to post this, I will go ahead and post a little bit about Texas Furry Fiesta. I only attended Sunday but I feel like it was a day well spent.
This was my first time attending a furry convention, and to be fair I probably would have benefited from a bit of planning. However I did have two very busy days during the other event that was arguably the primary reason for the trip; Texas Furry Fiesta was somewhat of an afterthought.
I started the day off browsing the dealer’s den and artist alley (not pictured). This was mainly to get an idea of what is typically on offer. I did not have the budget to do a whole lot of shopping, for better or worse. (Probably for the better, come to think of it.)
I attended a felines meet and greet early in the day, then eventually made my way up to the gaming area. The only bad thing about this hotel is that the area usually used for gaming is way up on the 29th floor. (The building was repurposed from an office building and some of the meeting spaces are up on the higher floors.) I would later attend another talk about attending events on a budget (no pictures), and eventually it was time for the closing ceremonies and heading back home.
And finally, the LED badge I bought (the one major purchase at this event). Note that this is as it is currently programmed, not as it was when it left the con.
